To improve yourself it is first necessary to be extremely unhappy with the way you are. It is important to determine that you want something better. When we've been utterly unhappy with our current condition we will have sufficient motivation to make the necessary changes to do to make a change.
Become a reader
Everything you need to know to improve your life has been studied and written about. Amazing people are everywhere! Through their experiences, research, and reflection they have learned to do nearly everything with ease. From organizing to investing, to taking care of pets, to starting business to resolving marriage problems, it has all been written down for you to read about. It's amazing!
Ask for help from other people
In every aspect of our lives, there are individuals who have arrived at the place you'd like to go. They have succeeded in achieving what you want to achieve. They have achieved it, no matter what. Guess what? They have shared the way they accomplished it. The story has been released on a podcast, CD or book or even a talk. A lot of people respond to emails. This is a method that helped Tony Robbins, the famous human expert on development, to dramatically change his course of life.
Assess continuously
If we don't stop to think about the direction of our lives, we aren't learning any lessons. We fall into habits and patterns that are not helpful, but are comfortable. The result can be more or worse results. King Solomon of Israel wrote "As the dog goes back to its vomit, so fools repeat their foolishness" Proverbs 26:11. It's gross! It's true, however! breaking old patterns and habits requires the ability to reflect on our past experiences.
Practice, Practice and Practice
The only way to increase your skills is to put them into practice. You can only improve your capabilities by performing. You must work hard to improve your writing, athletic ability, and marriage. Professor Anders Ericson published the "10,000 hour rule". This principle was discussed in a variety of books, including Outliers and The Talent Code. Ericson discovered that the top performers, in sports, music, or whatever, had always engaged in 10,000 hours of practice before they reached their peak level of performance.
